Next, did you complete the Career Cluster Interest Survey . Summarize on the bottom of pg. 6. Now, take a highlighter and HIGHLIGHT the 3 BOXES of your 3 HIGHEST clusters. As we watch this 16 Career Clusters video, fill in both a JOB or 2 that interest you AND 2 important HS classes you should take to prepare for a job in this cluster. Also see the 16 clusters worksheet with possible jobs. 3. Next, (for Wednesday) fill out the South Dakota Career Interest Survey packet. Follow the instructions on the handout to determine which of the Holland Hexagon Personalities best fits you. 4. You should have tallied the 6 columns to determine your Holland Hexagon Personalities Label your top three totals like this: Column 1: Artistic=Creator Column 2: Conventional=Organizer/Planner Column 3: Enterprising=Persuader Column 4: Investigative=Thinker Column 5: Realistic=Doer Column 6: Social=Helper 5. On the next handout labeled Occupational Interest Group Descriptions provided in your folder, again number your top 3 (Artistic? Conventional? Enterprising? Investigative? Realistic? Social?) 6. Flip to the backside and locate your top 2 or 3 types in the boxes. Read the italicized description of each personality and circle ONE or TWO jobs in each of those top interest areas that appeal to you. 7. On the next handout labeled Career Assessment Summary Worksheet,go to #2 where it says "Use your South Dakota Career Interest Survey." Follow this link to Exploring Occupations of Interest Page to complete the activity. 8. Next, flip this worksheet over (cross out A. and B.) and follow the instructions on the handout CAREFULLY to Complete the Your Free Career Test Activity HERE. Answer all of the 60 bubbled questions and click Submit. Jot down your CODE in case you accidentally close out of the site. Click on View Your Results On the next screen, no need to Print or Email results. Scroll down just a little to Your Free Career Test Results Investigate a job! If you can't find the % of growth, scroll to the very bottom of the specific career page under Article Citations and follow the link to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, where you'll see a chart with Job Outlook info.
