You do NOT need to do 9 and 10 at the bottom. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 Make it your goal to finish your Adventure, Sports or Survival Book this week! READ! No laptop today. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 Make it your goal to finish your Adventure, Sports or Survival Book this week! 1. First check your Magazine Monday scores in Infinite Campus. If one of them is low (5 or below) or both scores total 13 or less out of 16, you can choose RIGHT NOW at the start of class to read and take the 3rd option to attempt to raise a low score. The magazines and extra assessments are on the back table. It's early in the quarter and we'll have LOTS of points, but I like to offer this option. As soon as you finish, slide it under the door. Make sure your name is on it. I have the folders in my office and will return them to classroom as soon as anyone who'd like to use the 3rd attempt has finished. Someone please pick up the extra worksheets and slide under my door and put the stack of UpFront magazines on the stack with the rest of the magazines on top left of bookshelves. Thanks! 2. Read until 9:55 3. Complete Assignment: Post to QuickTopic Thursday, January 28, 2021 Make it your goal to finish your Adventure, Sports or Survival Book this week! READ! No laptop today. See THIS SAMPLE from last semester Wednesday, January 13, 2021 READING DAY--Remember that if you get into a book and don't like it, get a new one! Just don't wait to long or go too far into a book before changing your mind. Review these Main Responsibilities for this Class: 1. Read from bell to bell. 2. Cell Phone must be in holder by the door OR zipped into your backpack or computer bag. If it's out or I see it, I'll assign a detention because in this class, YOUR GRADE IS BASED almost EXCLUSIVELY ON YOUR READING EVERY DAY FOR THE FULL CLASS PERIOD. 3. On a reading day, laptops will not be opened and earbuds/bluetooth will not be utilized. Reading well requires focus. When you talk all the standardized tests in high school, earbuds are not allowed. This class is practice for the kind of focus you'll need to succeed on those reading tests. 4. As a student in a reading class, it's your right NOT to be disturbed by others who are talking or moving around. 5. In a class where your grade is based on the amount of time you spend reading, we do NOT leave the class to use the bathroom UNLESS it's an emergency. Take care of that on the way to class. 6. This is reading class. Your grade in this class is based almost exclusively on your READING all class period every day. That means EVERY moment you are in this room. you will be reading a novel, so do NOT bring or take out homework for another class. *I'll be gone tomorrow--Discuss QuickTopic Post for tomorrow.
